The World Perspectives Program announced a total of 11 trips to international destinations for the 2012-2013 school year. The Middle School will offer French immersion in Montreal and Spanish immersion in Puerto Rico. GFA’s Model UN will travel to Germany in November to participate in the Model UN conference in Berlin. Over the summer the World Perspectives Program will further its relationships in Peru, South Africa, and China through continuing the service learning and cultural immersion summer 2012. Students interested in Marine Biology and Environmental Science will travel to Bermuda to work on a field study with the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences (BIOS)
Additionally, new opportunities for travel abroad are being offered. Veronica Lima, US Spanish, will lead a service learning and cultural immersion trip to Colombia. Lisa Waldstein, US Studio Art, will lead a trip to Italy and Austria focusing on art and architecture. Robbi Hartt, MS English, will offer US students the opportunity to participate in her teacher training work in Rwanda. Finally, through working with the World Leadership School, GFA is offering a cultural immersion to Turkey with a special focus on International Relations and History.
On Thursday, September 27 US Parents will have the opportunity to attend presentations on WPP trips after US Parents Visiting Night. For more information and application materials consult the World Perspectives Program home page. The deadline for all applications will be November 8.
